There were four firemen working at that station. They all stopped doing yard work and came inside to show me their truck. It is the newest truck in the county, built in 2009 and it was a beauty. They said sometimes they have to wash it a couple of times or more in a day if it needs it. They work 24 hours and are then off 48 hours, so most of them have a second job. They all are EMT or paramedics.
Mommy sat in the fire engine drivers seat holding me. This truck is so BIG.
Because it is up so high, a fireman held me while he helped Mommy step down. It surprised Mommy that I would let the fireman hold me, but I did not protest, not one bit.
Then he started showing me what was behind every door. He talked to me quietly and I really listened.
Mommy and Barbara stood back and talked to the other three fireman.
The fire hoses are folded neatly in this compartment.
The fireman holding me is also a paramedic.
One of the fireman rides his motorcycle to work... I saw it first thing when we walked into the big garage. Starting next week an ambulance will be stationed at this fire station.
Mommy and Barbara got to hold a fireman's coat. It was heavy. The firemen turned on the trucks flashing lights for me. They did not turn on the siren. We were all impressed. I am so glad Mommy stopped and asked if we could see the firetruck.
Back home we put away our groceries and about that time Grandma arrived. It was time for an Easter egg hunt.
Grandma hid the eggs in the backyard while I tried not to watch out the back door.
Grandma hid fifty plastic eggs and I found 49.
I play hide and seek in the house, but maybe I like the outside game more.I tried out this little wiggle worm water sprinkler for a few minutes.
Mommy thought I might get cold, but I did not seem to ...
... and I did not want to quit.
I played with the sidewalk chalk.I'll have hours of fun with my new toys from the Easter Bunny.
I was having to much fun to take a nap. Around 4pm I did fall asleep on the drive to meet Mimz. I have more fun to look forward to this Easter weekend.
