Happy Halloween!
I barely had a runny nose today, so maybe my allergies are under control.
It was a routine day except I did play at the bathroom sink.
Before going to Mommy office Halloween party, Barbara took me to see Mimz so she could see me dressed in my Halloween costume.
I was asleep when we arrived at Mimz.  She held me for a few minutes while I woke up.
Barbara and Mimz like to talk about me.  They talk about how I am starting to talk more.  I can say "bush" and I know what a bush is.  I can say "push."
They discussed how I hold an ink pen properly.  That amazed them both and do not know how I learned that.
My Halloween costume was a skeleton.
Mommy bought me the monster sack with my name on it when I was a tiny baby.
My costume had a jumpsuit, a ragged jacket and a top hat.  My black and white Converse shoes I wore to Andy and Kristan's wedding completed my outfit.
Mimz and Barbara love to take pictures of me!
Mimz has an American flag in her front yard.  I showed her how I know to put my right hand over my heart to salute the flag.  She was pleased.
Friends: Spider, Monk Monk, and me.
I was shy when Mommy first took me into her office, but I quickly started having fun. First thing I did was eat a cupcake.  They took pictures and we ate.  Then it was time for everyone to get back to work, so Barbara took me home.
I played at the bathroom sink for a long time before I took my nap.
When Mommy got home we dressed me in my costume again to go to a church Fall Festival.
I looked at everything around me, but I did keep a firm grip on Mommy's hand at first.
I like balloons.
I started to venture out on my own.
Lots of people smiled and said I was the cutest skeleton ever..
Mommy and I played Cake Walk three times.  We did not win but had fun anyway.
 Close up shot.
 Fishing for candy.
Hunting for ducks with stars on the bottom to earn candy.
Back home we went to four of our neighbor's homes to Trick or Treat.  All of these neighbors were sitting outside with big bowls of candy.  That was fun.  I am already looking forward to next Halloween.

6:45am  I got my diaper changed, ate breakfast, had my diaper changed again, and then the fun began.
I pulled a chair from the breakfast table to the kitchen sink and played with measuring cups in a sink of soapy water for almost an hour.
PaPa and Grandma came to visit.  Grandma, Mommy, and Barbara did some organizing, while I helped PaPa grill some pork chops and fix us a delicious meal.  They are trying to get everything organized so we can start thinking about decorating for Christmas.  They talked about how for the past two Christmas I have left the Christmas tree alone.  They wondered if they would be so lucky this year.  They doubt it.   (hee hee)
While I napped Mommy and Grandma went shopping for me some new clothes.  Barbara and Papa watched football.  When Mommy got home, they tried to try on some of my new clothes.  I threw a fit and cried like I was the most mistreated child alive.  They hope I soon realize that if I just "grin and bare it" trying on new clothes would be painless.
Mommy and Grandma also bought me some toy food.  They knew how much I enjoyed playing "chef" at Mimz home, they wanted me to have that same fun at Mommy's home.  I cooked for everyone and they all had to eat my cooking.
At the end of the day I was resting on Big Pug...
...watching Caillou.

Trees in GGM Avis and GGF John's backyard.
GGM wishes we could be there to see how lovely the trees are.  She says they are much prettier than these pictures show.
I woke up at 5:30am.  Barbara and I played until 7am then we woke up Mommy so she could take over.  I ate grits, raisin toast, and leftover rice pilaf all before 7am.  I was a hungry boy.  Guess I am feeling better.  The only symptom I had was a little runny nose.
I played outside for a couple of hours and I was happy except when I did not get my way.... isn't that how most people are???
Video of me bringing in the trashcans.  What a good boy am I!
PaPa came to play with me while Grandma and Mommy went to a card making class.  Barbara had the morning off.
I fell asleep at 10:30am because I was up so early this morning.
Papa did some chores while I slept,  when I woke up he played with me until he had to leave.
I played with sink of soapy water with a few measuring cups and a funnel for an hour.  Barbara had to
stand over me to keep me from pouring water on the floor and the chair I was standing on.
I sort of let Barbara watch OU football.  We were playing with my skeleton Halloween costume because were planning on going to a Trunk or Treat event but I fell asleep at 4pm just before Mommy got home.  They just did not have the heart to wake me up.
We had pizza for dinner and I liked both the Supreme and the Sausage pizza.  I would have a bite of Mommy's then a bite of Barbara's.
Mommy and I spent the entire evening playing in the garage, except for an hour we spent going through my clothes to see what was to small and what I needed and a little time to go to Wal-Mart where we bought me two pairs of size 24 month pants.  My size 18 months are too short.
Barbara bought me a Plexar Car soft chair.  It is just my size.
Just chilling!

Today was Mason Day, which means we did whatever I wanted to do all day.   We have these days because it makes me happy and makes Barbara's day easier.  She does not have to coax me into doing what she wants.
I think I am pretty cool when I have on hats.
For the past month I have been biting my fingernails.  I did not use a pacifier.  I dd not suck my thumb.  So why have a started biting my nails?  Hope this is a stage and I get over it soon.
I stuck my tongue WAY OUT today.  First time Barbara had seen it that far out of my mouth.  Mimz says she had noticed me using my tongue more doing things like touching the roof of my mouth.
Kissing gazing ball in our flower bed.
Helping load dryer.  I wore a hoodie outside because it was cool and when I came in I insisted on leaving my jacket on.  Right before I went to bed, I agreed to take it off.  Daddy commented that I do like to wear hoodies.
Video of me jabbering.
Video of me after I had been spinning to make myself dizzy.

Tidbits I just remembered to write down:
Kristan has been driving "White Lightening" for ten years.  It was getting to the point that it was going to be needing some major work, so she and Andy found her a "new to her" Volvo.  She is happy.

I have been wearing size 12 to 24 socks and they were getting to be too small, so Barbara bought me some size 18 to 36 socks and they are sort of too small.

Mimz and Kay Ross named Mimz' GPS lady "Lanta" after the city Atlanta.

Mimz, Mommy, Grandma, and Barbara all agree that I have never thrown up and I spit up very little when I was a tiny baby.  That makes Barbara happy, since she does not handle that very well.
I am only 25 months old and have already been given chores.
I take my "bring in the trash cans" job seriously.

Job well done!

It started to rain just as Mommy drove into the driveway.  I loved  standing in the shower.
Since Mommy and I were already wet, we decided to go for a wet wagon ride.
I loved playing in the rain and in puddles.  It was surprisingly warm.
I wanted more water playing so I ended up in the bathtub.
I just soaked Mommy.  See her wet jeans.
Mommy is the best at rinsing shampoo out of my hair so it is always her job to wash my hair.
After my bath we were looking through Halloween costumes ...
.. and we found these wigs that Barbara made at least 25 years ago.  She made four of them for Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy costumes she made for Grandma, PaPa, Mommy and Andy.  Andy was about two years old.

I fell asleep last night at 8:40 and slept until 7am but it was a fitful sleep.   I slept in my little bed all night but Barbara could still hear me breathing heavily, and making noises and moving around a lot.  At times I felt warm to her touch.  I did have a low grade fever when I woke up so Mommy gave me some Ibuprofen.
I woke up happy, ready to eat.  Being sick does not suppress my appetite.  I watched Mommy get ready for work and waved bye to her as she honked her car horn for me.  At 8:20 a school bus stops at our corner to pick up big kids and the driver waves to me if we are standing there.   I wanted to swing so for almost an hour Barbara pushed my swing.   So many times I was almost asleep but I kept insisting that I wanted to keep swinging.  But finally I wanted to come inside.
Watch this little video to see me read outloud.

I laid on the sofa watching Caillou and Barbara could tell I was not feeling really great.
We went to meet Mimz around 10am and Mimz took me to the car wash.  What a treat.  That may have been the first time I have been to a car wash.  I loved it.
I played a bit before lunch and nap time.  I slept about three hours.  I did not have a fever, but I was tired, probably because I did not sleep well last night even though I did not wake up.
First thing when I woke up I wanted ice cream.  I remember that at Mimz that is my treat after my nap.  I never forget a thing!
My cough sounds bad.  Mimz hopes that is all the gunk breaking up.  I don't have a fever, but I am a little under the weather but I still enjoyed playing outside.

Having fun in the tub.

I woke up at 5:15 with a slight fever (under 100).  Barbara gave me some more Ibuprofen and I went back to sleep and my fever did go away while I slept.  I slept until 9:20am.  Good thing I was not going to school or I would have been really late.
PaPa came over to play with me.  I watched him groom Maggie before he took her home with him.
I enjoy rubbing my hands together to make soap bubbles.
I felt good all morning and ate a good lunch, but by noon I was getting another fever.
I had an appointment with Dr. Lacour at 1:30 to find out what was wrong with me.
I got in to see the doctor right on time.  I weighed 28 pounds on the doctor's scales and I had a low grade fever.  I was not scared to see Dr. Lacour this time.  He checked my ears and nose and from all the symptoms Barbara told him, he could tell that I had some allergies, which caused me to have ear infections, which caused the low grade fever.  I have more infections in my right ear than I do in my left ear.
He gave us a prescription for CEFDINIR, an antibiotic,  for my ear infections, which I am to take for 10 days, then throw away the remainder.  It must be SHAKEN WELL and kept at room temperature and cool.  I am to have 1/2 tsp once a day for 10 days.  Take with food.
For my allergies I am to take Zyrtec or a generic if can't find Zyrtec, 1 tsp once a day for 10 days.  And next time I start to get the symptoms, take it again.  If Zyrtec doesn't help I can try Allegra 1 tsp 2 times a day.  If neither of these help call the doctor's office.
I can keep on taking Ibuprofen for pain and fever.
We talked about all the rashes I have been having.  I started Mother's Day Out in June, got Roseola in July, Scarletina in August, and other rashes and insect bites that linger.  Dr. Lacour said I am normal.  If a child goes to daycare they will catch things all the time.  The Triamcinolone Acetonide we got last time we were here is good for my rashes and bites.
Back home, Barbara gave me Ibuprofen to start bringing down my fever.
At dinner time she gave me the ear infection medicine and at 7pm she gave me the Zyrtec.  I took it all like a trooper.
I woke up at 9:20am and did not take a nap.  I finally fell asleep at 8:40.  I was in a good mood all day, even though I could not have been feeling great.
Here I am watching Caillou...again.

Monday, October 24, 2011

I woke up feeling good and had a happy morning.   Two school bus drivers waved to me.  I helped Mommy take the trash cans to the curb.  Mommy honked her car horn when she left for work.  And Daddy stopped by on his way to work to bring my Velcro shoes, which I must have for school tomorrow.  He honked his horn when he drove away.  I played outside most of the morning.
Right before my nap I had a 99.4 degree temperature.  I did not rest well because I had a hard time breathing and just did not feel good.
Mommy called the doctor and managed to get an appointment for 1:30pm tomorrow.  Mainly we want to know what my problem is and how we should be treating it.
I woke up after an hour nap and wanted Barbara to hold me and rock me....but in just a few minutes, I got off her lap and was feeling pretty good.  I wanted to go downstairs, then outside.
I took all of my downstairs toys outside.   I helped bring in the trash cans.
I pulled my wagon around our dead end street.  Mommy got home expecting to find a sick little boy, but I was almost normal acting.
I did not want to eat much but I did eat a Popsicle and drank a couple sippie cups of juice so I was keeping hydrated.
I played all evening.   Around 9pm, my fever was 99.0 but I felt warmer than that and was acting puny.  I went to sleep around 9:30pm.

 Early morning bath
Mimz bought me some cute new shoes.
Here I am being a budding chef.

Mimz and Daddy, come eat.  Dinner is ready!
All my friends are ready to eat and I have fun feeding them.
Here I am making peanut butter crackers.

I made three crackers, one for each of us.
Clean up time!
