Happy 38th Birthday, Uncle Scott!
This morning Mommy, Daddy, Mimz and I had an appointment with a speech therapist because when I was two years old I basically only said two words: Mommy and Daddy. In just three months I have added about 40 words to my vocabulary. The speech therapist evaluated my speech based on what my parents said. I got a 84 rating for my receptive speech because I understand most everything everyone says. That is about what would be expected of a three-year-old. My expressive speech rating was a 10, which is about what would be expected of a 17-month-old. Part of that may be because of my being tongue tied. The next step is to check my hearing to make sure it is okay. We think it must be okay because I hear everything but there could be something so it is best to check.
The speech therapist thinks she can help me catch up to my proper age for expressive speech, so I will be going to see her weekly sometime next year.
I enjoyed that appointment. I got to walk around and play with anything I wanted to. Mostly I played with the kitchen. One cute thing I did was pick up a baby doll, lay her on the table, and sat down and put my arm around the doll. I will grow up to be a good daddy.
When Barbara and GGM Avis came to pick me up from Mimz, we had just finished a ride down the street on Pops' scooter. They came inside and we admired all the pretty ornaments and stockings Mimz has. Of course I had on my cowboy boots and I wanted to take my cowboy hat with us. I was happy playing just like I was until Barbara said GGF John was waiting at home. He really wanted to see me, so then I was ready to go. I did not act a bit shy when I saw him, probably because I talk to him every day on the web cam.
Between GGM, GGF, and Barbara I kept them busy playing with me all afternoon. When Mommy got home she joined in the fun.
Last week when I would jump off of my bed it was just a short little jump almost straight down, but now I really leap out and really jump. All boy, they say!
